iPhones in EU could soon gain one of the first alternative app stores

MacPaw, the tech company known for its popular subscription-based service Setapp, has some news for iPhone users in the EU. Starting in April, Setapp will be available as an alternative app marketplace on iPhones. This move is part of Apple’s efforts to comply with the Digital Markets Act, and it’s bringing about several changes with the release of iOS 17.4.

The Setapp Mobile beta promises to offer a “carefully selected assortment of apps”. Whether you’re looking to boost your productivity, unleash your creativity, improve your daily routines, or make everyday tasks easier, Setapp has got you covered.

MacPaw is one of the first companies, along with Epic Games, to announce plans to offer an alternative app marketplace on the iPhone in the EU.
